Hey friends! Let’s just start with the fact that I had so many pieces of the Brie and recent kits I wanted to use and I was determined to fit them all on one layout!
So I decided on a layered situation that started at the top – and stayed up there. The other goal for this page was to give myself a bit of a reminder that I can do new things!
I used the Swatches patterned paper from Brie as the base and trimmed out a few strips for both the right and left sides, leaving room in the middle for the photo and 2 printed quotes. Then I layered the smaller items on and around those focus items until I felt they looked right.
I also wanted a BIG title so I used the Black Polka Dot Chipboard Alphas and added smaller tiled letters around it. Adding the journaling under the title brings focus there and I liked the balance it provided.
To help the 2 pages flow together seamlessly, I used a piece of the Brooke Ledger patterned paper from the bottom which included the branding strip so your eye would easily move through the pages.
The other side holds the quotes and my current age – using the acetate numbers from Alexis. I wanted to remember that I tried hard and had the power to do what I wanted to do, even at almost 40. It’s about deciding to take that leap, head first into your dreams!
I added the Henley Girl Stamp because she represents me right now – short hair, tee and ripped jeans, skater shoes and hips that say “I’m trying – but hey I’ve had 2 kids and it’s hard”.
I wanted to layer and tuck and cluster all of the items that represented change and flourishing and that’s why I chose the flower and butterfly (as well as the floral/clock photo from the other side). And to top it all off, some platters to remind myself that it’s all still a bit messy!
Thank you for joining me today! I hope you are documenting your dreams and the processes along the way. It’s important to get those on paper!
See you next time!
