See You L8R, Friend featuring Felicity Jane

Hello Friends! Andrea here to share a sweet project I made about friendship! Sadly, I had to leave my girl after a fun weekend and loved this photo of us at the airport. The latest Jeana kit from Felicity Jane was the perfect way to get it documented.

One side of this Traveler’s Notebook is a 3×8 pocket page and the other is a full TN size. I used a card and solid paper to fill in the pockets. I used the pink REAL LIFE moments card to journal on since there was a lot of room at the bottom. I love using “filler cards” for this purpose – it really maximizes the space you have! I added two embellishments to the top to balance it out.

Adding two embellishments to the top helped to balance it out and add contrast.

The bottom card was so fun to make! I used the chipboard alphas and then used a black pen to create the alpha shape inside to add a punch of contrast. I then fussy cut a couple of florals from the pattered paper and lined them up to the edges.

The opposite side is a full TN size page that started with a smooshing of pink acrylic paint in the center which was the foundation for the photo. I loved how Kathleen (Scattered Confetti) allows patterned paper to peek through so I used that technique to add some texture and color to the stark areas of the page. Adding more fussy cut florals and die cuts near that corner allows your eye to follow the natural line down to the photo.

Then from the photo, there’s another cluster of embellishments on the right that leads to another little peek-a-boo edge.

To create the edge or corner, simply fold or tear your top background paper. Then cut a piece of patterned paper (or use a scrap) slightly larger than the opening so you have enough room to glue the scrap paper to the back, with the pattern showing through.

This layout went into my open ringed TN about this specific trip and I love how it turned out. Thanks for joining me today!
